School Days, School Days

Laura Anne, as I have mentioned before, loves to do "schoolwork". She's right in the thick of learning how to draw numbers and letters. We have to work on neatness, but she's doing really well. And, believe it or not, I think we're starting to see that she favors writing with her right hand!! Up until now, I honestly couldn't tell you whether she's left-handed or right-handed. She constantly switches back and forth.
Just look here. Left hand:

Left hand:
Right hand:
I love that last picture. She has her little audience watching her. So what does Caleb do while Laura Anne is hard at work? Well, he does some coloring:
And when he drops his crayons, he ever-so-cutely squats to pick them up, not forgetting to give me a cheesy grin!
And if he's sitting in his high chair having a snack, well, he likes to unroll the entire roll of paper towels. After doing this several times over the last month, you'd think I'd either move him, or the paper towels so I don't have to continuosly re-roll the towels.
But then, I wouldn't have this cute picture opportunity.
Sigh.

La Dee Da

I thought it might be about time for a little update on everyone! First off, Chris is doing well with his new job. He has more responsibility than was originally talked about, but he enjoys what he does, and there's room for advancement, if you get what I mean.
I am enjoying being home with the kids, especially now that no one is sick! It feels wonderful to be back in a place that we can call our own, even if it is temporary.
My wonderful husband recently installed Photoshop on our computer and I'm having a blast learning how to make my way through it! I can't wait until I have enough money saved to buy a whoop-de-doo camera! I'm also thoroughly enjoying my craft room. I spend a lot of time in there and I'm excited to announce that I will be doing my first craft show in October with my mom!!! I will be selling handmade cards and name frames! Woo!
We are in the process of trying to find a church home. We have visited a couple (when we weren't travelling over the weekend!) and, although it's nice to see how other churches worship, I'm ready to find a place where we can settle in and be a part of the ministry there. We'll see where God leads us!
This morning, I took the kids outside for an impromptu photo shoot! For some reason, I was just dying to get some outdoor photos of them. Caleb did great. He even tried to say "cheese!" a few times! Laura Anne had to warm up to the camera, but I was able to snap a few really neat ones of her natural beauty! :)

How 'bout that little pouty pose there?!She wouldn't part with this little tiger, so I just had to make do with it:
Laura Anne is all about doing schoolwork these days. She's close to finishing the workbook I bought her several months ago. I also bought her some flashcards last weekend. One set is phonics and the other is numbers 0-100. She loves spending time learning, and I enjoy teaching her and watching her learn. We do plan on homeschooling in the future, so this is just a fun glimpse of how it will be!

Laura Anne turns 3 years and 8 months today, and she is growing like a weed. She is now 41 1/2 inches tall, which is 2 1/2 inches taller than she was on her birthday. The funny thing is, she's so skinny, she can still wear several of her outfits from last summer! Although, sometimes I don't how she grows so fast because she eats like a bird. Picky! Picky! That's what she is! I don't know where she gets it from. ;o)
Playing in the sheets on the clothesline:
She loves her little brother, but she also loves to boss him around. I'm constantly reminding her that I'm Caleb's mommy and I'll tell him how to behave. That's okay, though. He's getting close to the age when he will be able to torture her right back!
Speaking of Caleb, our little man is growing up fast now. He eats like a horse. I'm serious. He will eat almost anything including, but not limited to: steak, ham, turkey, chicken, fruit of any kind, lots of veggies, pretzels (Caleb-friendly, of course) and the list goes on.

He's really becoming more vocal these days. He mimics, or tries to mimic, a lot of what we say. I love this stage! His personality is really coming out and we're seeing a lot of likes and dislikes. One thing that really captures his interest is airplanes. He gets so excited when he sees and airplane. He says "ay-pay". I could make a list of other things he tries to say, but that would take too much time and brain power that I don't have at the moment.

Off on an adventure:

So anywho, that is what's up with us Castleberries. :)

Uncle Red Comes To Visit

My brother came for a quick visit last week. He lives in Tampa and we haven't seen him in a long time! We had a lovely time with him and wish we could see him more often!

We love you Uncle Red! :D

Little Chris

I shaved off Caleb's blond hair and gave him a hair style just like his Daddy!

It suits him, don't you think?

Sadie And Photo Editing

Remember Sadie? I don't get many pictures of her. Her and I had a photo session yesterday. I attempted to edit some of the photos using the tools in our Kodak software. It's not much but I like what I found. But what I'm really looking forward to is cleaning up the computer and installing Photoshop. Then I can get a move-on on learning the art of photography! Yeah, baby!
Anywho, this first photo was edited only a little bit. I enhanced the color a touch:
Here's Sadie sniffing one of our fruit trees. I'm not sure what kind of fruit it is yet. I haven't looked. This photo is not edited at all:
This one is my favorite. It was kind of dark before I edited it. I just love the tall grass around her. But as we have discovered already, black snakes like to hide in the grass so it won't be tall for long.
Sadie loves to play with this ball so much I can never get it from her. She's too fast for me!
I only cropped this next one. I'm not too fond of the colors, but her face is so darn cute!
And there you have it. Our two and a half year old four-legged baby.
