7 Months Old
Yup, another month has gone by. It's strange how they go so quickly and slowly at the same time. Here's what's new with our young man these days:
- He hates wearing diapers (at least, he hates when I put one on him).
- He now eats rice cereal, peas, bananas, applesauce and carrots. His absolute favorite food ever is bananas and he still will not eat squash. He also had the priviledge of sucking on a real carrot last week. He thoroughly enjoyed that, especially when Mr. Dan put some Cool Whip on the end. :o)
- I'm not sure of his weight, but I don't think he's gained much since last month.
- He still won't take a bottle of formula, although he teased us a little last week. He took one bottle two days in a row and then on day three he decided he didn't like it after all. Bummer! We'll keep trying.
- He still loves his exersaucer. He will play in it for up to an hour at a time sometimes! Good for me!
- His big sister can (almost) always get him to laugh.
- Anything and everything goes into his mouth.
- He has to sleep with socks on his hands most nights to prevent him from scratching himself up. He seems to get more itchy at night, not sure why.
Sitting up and looking so big!Gotta taste everything!

Wedding Fun
We attended a friends' wedding and reception last weekend. You know, I knew Laura Anne loved to dance, but put her in a ball room with loud music and a wide open floor and watch her go!! It was hilarious. This was the first time I've ever been to a wedding reception with dancing. I think we all enjoyed ourselves.

Pretty In Paisley
My mom made this lovely outfit for Laura Anne and we did a "photo shoot" before I left Florida. We're hoping that her picture will get published in the Australian magazine that the design for the outfit came from. We'll see! Mom got the best picture (the one we're sending to the magazine) on her camera, but I got some decent ones too. Laura Anne did very well for these pictures, taking me by surprise. Usually, she doesn't understand, "Grammy wants to have a picture of you in this outfit", or "I just want to get one picture of you". She doesn't always like to pose for pictures, but this time she did awesome, flashing her beautiful smile at us and enjoying the hibiscus flower Pops gave her to hold.

A Visit To The Pumpkin Patch
My mom and I took 4 kids under age 3 to the pumpkin patch on Wednesday. It was exhausting, but we had fun and so did the children.

Fun Family Photos
Obviously, if you read the last post, you know that we were in Florida last week. Chris was unable to come with us, so it was just me and the kids. We drove down Friday. Laura Anne did great during the long drive. Caleb, um, not so much. He wouldn't sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. But after 10 long hours we made it to our destination: Steve and Jen's house! The kids were in no way ready for bed. Laura Anne and Joshua played on the couch for a while. The boys were put to bed at 9. Laura Anne stayed up until 10 helping her Aunt Jen bake my mom's birthday cake. Caleb and I finally hit the sack at 11.
Saturday morning was spent playing with the cousins. Afternoon was party time!
Since I've already shared the birthday photos, we'll fast forward a little bit. Here are just a couple of random shots. First we have Uncle Garrett reading Dr. Seuss to Laura Anne:
And here's my happy little guy, ready to go for a walk with Mommy and Aunt Seaweed:
Laura Anne had fun jumping on the bed with her twin cousins, Peter and Isaac.
And then Caleb got his first lesson in ABC's from Uncle Donut and Peter and Isaac

Fabulous Fifty
In honor of my mom's birthday, this year my siblings and I decided to throw her a surprise birthday party. We have never done this before and it was so much fun. We've been planning it for the past 3 months or so. It took some creative thinking to get her out of her own house for a little while so we could get everything ready, but we pulled it off! The first couple pictures in the slideshow are all of us at our meeting place behind Mom's house. We met there and waited for a call from my brother to give us the "all clear!" so we could head over to the house. We only had a half hour or so to decorate and prepare the food. Everyone worked hard, and the party was so fun.
Enjoy the pictures and I hope you had a great birthday party, Mom! We Love You!
