Our Little Photographer

Because Laura Anne loves taking pictures, I thought it would be cute to set up a simple blog to display her pictures. The only pictures I will post are ones that she has taken herself. So please go take a look. I put a link in the list to the right, but you can also click here to go straight to her blog. I will be adding more soon.

A Reason To Celebrate

My brother, Brandon and his wife, Alana (parents to twins, Peter and Isaac) are expecting another little bundle of joy (or two!) in February!! Woo-hoo!

Three Months Old

Caleb turns 3 months old today. He has become a very content baby (when he's not all congested--more on that in a moment). Here are his latest achievements.
  • He weighs approx. 14 pounds and is about 25 inches long.
  • He is now sleeping through the night, or at least he goes 7-9 hours between his last feeding of the day and his first feeding of the day.
  • He is wearing size 2 diapers. Laura Anne wasn't in size 2 until she was 4 months old!
  • He has found his hands. He loves to suck on them whenever they make it to his mouth.
  • He will be rolling from his back to his tummy any day now. He can already get on his side, so we're sure it won't be long before he rolls all the way over.
  • He's ticklish on his sides. We've made him giggle a couple times.
  • He gets hot and sweaty really easily and he hates being hot. Thankfully we've found a fabulous little battery-powered fan that has a clip so we can clip it to the car seat when we're in the car. That way he has air blowing right on him to keep him cool.
  • He's still struggling with baby acne and excema. The doc gave us some cream that works really well, though. I remember Laura Anne had a bad problem with rashes, too.
  • While we're on the subject of rashes, last week we thought that maybe Caleb was allergic to his diapers because he developed a pretty bad diaper-shaped rash. Diaper rash cream did not help it, but cortisone cream did. So we switched brands from Luvs to Huggies and so far, the rash is looking a lot better.

Alright, so about his ongoing journey with congestion. He obviously doesn't have reflux, and it's obviously not a cold. Who ever had a cold that lasted 3 months?? So our pediatrician has one more thought. He thinks it may possibly be an allergy. So we're now giving Caleb Allegra every night to treat the congestion. He's been on it for a week and I haven't noticed a big change. The next step is taking him to see an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor. I will probably be making that appointment within the next couple days, just because I don't think he has an allergy and we need to find the real problem. I don't want to experience another day like last week when Caleb and I were both crying because he was hungry but was so congested that he couldn't eat. So hopefully we'll have the answer soon.

In the meantime here are a couple pictures of our little fella.

Injuries and Pool Days

Well, we had an eventful weekend. I already mentioned the wedding, but what I didn't mention was the scary fall, taken by my dear husband. Without going into all the details I will tell you that he fell flat on his back on the concrete from several feet in the air. Needless to say he took a trip to the urgent care Saturday night. No bones were broken, but he had a cervical sprain and a rib contusion. Basically, he hurt his neck and bruised a couple ribs pretty bad. So since then he's been taking it easy. I've been driving him to and from work. He's definitely on the mend, but it may be a while before his ribs don't hurt.

On Sunday we went to a friend's house to borrow their pool. It was very relaxing. It did good for Chris' back, too. Here are a few pictures from that day:

Two And A Half Years

Our sweet girl turned 2 1/2 Saturday!! She is a joy and is learning new things all the time. She loves to sing, take pictures, turn somersaults and play with her little brother. Her absolute favorite thing in the world to do is play on the bed with her daddy! Sometimes, as soon as Chris gets home from work, she says "yay! We can play on the bed now!" Why she doesn't enjoy it as much with me, I don't know, but I think it's adorable she loves her daddy so much.

Her vocabulary is expanding all the time, and she seems eager to learn more. She recently learned the word "garage" only she can't quite say it correctly. She says "garbage" instead! We get a good laugh out of that.

She weighs around 32 pounds and is 37 inches tall. She past the 3 feet mark! I'm not sure what the percentages are, but I do know she's on the tall side. People always think she's at least three.
Anyway, here's some recent shots of our precious daughter:

Wedding Bells Were Ringing

My good friend, Arelys and her hubby, Hugo just celebrated their 11th anniversary on Friday. They never got to have a real wedding and because earlier this year they rejoiced in Hugo's newfound faith in Christ they figured this was a good year to renew their vows and have the wedding they've always dreamed of. Of course Arelys needed some help with all the plans (wink wink), so for the past couple months we've had everything wedding on the brain.

This past Saturday, Hugo and Arelys renewed their vows to each other in a very simple but beautiful ceremony. Here are a few pictures of mine and Ellen's handiwork, and the happy couple.

Out Of Curiosity

I decided to add a counter box to the blog to see how many hits my blog gets. I've been curious how many people look at it. So today, June 19, 2008 it starts at zero.

And because it's tough to post without a picture or two, for your viewing pleasure:

Part Five, Last But Not Least--The Sibstravaganza!!

After eating and swimming, we played several rounds of Twister. I couldn't seem to stay in the game for very long. Here's me pouting:

What's a sibstravaganza without goofy pictures?!

Part Four, Elizabeth's Graduation and Golfing

Here's an August Rush moment. Laura Anne was directing the band:

Saturday, Chris and Laura Anne went golfing with Chris' parents. It was Laura Anne's first time playing real golf. Grandma and Papa even bought her her own set of golf clubs. So cute!

Part Three, Garrett's Graduation

Me and Caleb went back to my family's house while Chris and Laura Anne stayed with his parents. My youngest brother and Chris' niece were graduating the same night, so we had to split up. Here's Caleb with his namesake, my grandfather Arthur Charlton:

Fitting in one more cuddle before Grampy had to leave. Caleb was just smiling away at him!

Trip To Florida, Part Two

The middle part of our trip was spent with the Castleberry's.

Trip To Florida, Part One

We're back!! We had a great time while in Florida and I have tons of pictures to share. So I will post them over the next few days so as not to overload you!Pops! Proud Aunt Seaweed :o)
Proud Uncle Garrett:
I got a kick out of this. Laura Anne saw Caleb having some tummy time so she had her two dolls and herself have tummy time, too!
Me with my 25 yellow birthday roses sent by my hubby. You can see how huge they were:

Swimming with Pops:

Playing in the hose was such fun! Yes, the boys are wearing Dora swimmy diapers, but only because they didn't have theirs with them.
